Project SHARK (Students Harnessing Aquatic Research & Knowledge) is an immersive marine education program created by Our Blue Horizons, Inc. to inspire and equip the next generation of ocean explorers, researchers, and citizen scientists. Through real fieldwork, underwater technology, and data analysis, students move beyond the classroom to experience how science, technology, and conservation intersect in the real world.

Why this program matters
Despite progress in STEM education, girls and young women remain significantly underrepresented in technical and seagoing roles, and many students from underserved communities have little or no access to the ocean as a living laboratory. Opportunities to handle real equipment, gather data, and work alongside scientists are still rare, especially for those without financial resources, connections, or prior exposure.​
